Challenge Accepted: The Northland Challenge Returns in 2026

Sep 25, 2025

We are thrilled to announce the return of the Northland Challenge, a one-of-a-kind adventure that embodies the company’s spirit of taking on challenges and unlocking prosperity for all.

The Northland Challenge was born from one employee’s desire to push his limits. After experiencing India’s culture while working on a project in the region, he asked Northland to support his participation in a Tuk Tuk race, and the idea took root. What began as a single adventure has since evolved into a signature company tradition, bringing Northlanders to some of the world’s most remarkable destinations including India, Nepal, Uganda and Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, the Caucasus, and the American Southwest.

Whether in a 4x4, on a mule, or behind the wheel of a tuk tuk, Northlanders have embarked on their journeys armed with a challenge checklist and a destination. The rest is up to them. This experience is designed to push participants beyond their comfort zones, cultivate resilience, and build bonds that extend across regions and teams.

"We are very much about getting comfortable with the uncomfortable,”says Northland CEO, Pierre Trapanese. “By taking on this challenge, our employees will broaden their horizons and, as a result, their capabilities,” he adds, “meaning things they once felt were outrageous or daunting become second nature.”

Next March, the Challenge is set to return to its roots as Northlanders take on a 10-day race across Rajasthan, India. Equipped with determination and a three-wheeled Tuk Tuk, they will navigate the region without technology, completing daily challenges and immersing themselves in the rich culture and landscapes of India along the way.

Next year’s edition marks a significant milestone, honoring 20 years of taking on challenges and setting the stage for what’s to come. Be sure to follow along with Northland via LinkedIn and Instagram as we prepare our teams for the journey ahead and chronicle our adventures, day by day, next year.
