Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator

We are looking to fill both full-time and part-time positions to staff our 24×7 Global Security Operations Center.  The GSOC and its employees are responsible to help safeguard the people and property of Northland Controls and our clients.  The GSOC is the primary point of contact for employees, customers, facilities, security officers, and other vendors for safety and security issues and inquiries. Customer service is a key element of this position.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Respond to and investigate alarms received from a variety of access control and video management systems
  • Dispatch field personnel in response to alarms, emergencies, and calls for service; alerting emergency responders as needed
  • Assist personnel with access control issues
  • Follow client specific procedures to ensure timely communication of all security and safety related events for example, medical emergencies, intrusion attempts, etc.
  • Administer access for a variety of client control systems
  • Generate work order and maintenance requests according to the GSOC process
  • Conduct routine audits of readers, cameras, and other related devices for all clients
  • Troubleshoot and facilitate problem resolution for clients and their employees
  • Ensure the safety of employees locally and abroad by monitoring domestic and global events
  • Prepare all required written reports, including but not limited to:  activity reports, incident summary reports, and all required logs
  • Collaborate with the GSOC Operations Manager to identify process and performance improvements
  • Perform other duties and special project functions as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of computer operations and applications, including MS Office, Internet Browsing, and the ability to quickly understand security systems
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential and expected
  • Security GSOC experience, a plus.
